Have the urge to update today without any clearcut idea of what I want to say. So here goes.

I did find out when term ends. Mumble mumble, week after next, I think. If I can swing it, I stop in the studio tomorrow afternoon and get some work done on my little grisaille jackalope and mix up some more painting colors. And maybe paint with them finally.

I picked up some cheap-ish containers (snack size publix leftover containers) for putting mixed liquid enamels in. Who knows, maybe I'll get a couple of those mixed and could try out a little sgrafitto while I'm doing the rest.

One benefit of cleaning out *snort* the Cherry Red is that I found the brand new, not yet opened pack of crow quills and such. Good for sgrafitto.

I saw a "little warrior" in my garden last week. Garden, that should occasion another snort. The weed patch dotted with the random rose bush, way too many ornamental salvias and a couple of volunteer tomato plants. I've seen her or one of her kin before. She's a ruby-throated hummingbird, female or juvenile. And true to form, she is an inquisitive little creature. After she had finished sampling all the salvias, including the pink and white bicolors, she came near and hovered for a bit and just looked at me. She's done that before too.

I've seen hummingbirds so seldom here, much more often in California. I wonder if I'd ever be able to get some photos. I'd have to have a camera on me whenever I went out. It would be nifty to get some, though.

Gainesville Sketchers this afternoon. Might just be me. Bill will not be there. Mike and Margaret are both iffy. Peggy, sniff, doesn't find Starbucks conducive to what she wants to do. Well, that's so...special. How about giving me feedback about meeting locations then. We might come up with some place conducive.

Tonight dinner with Cindy at the new place, Taj Grill and Curry on 13th in the old Pizza Hut location. I'm looking forward to it. I've been there three times for lunch buffet and the food is good, nicely seasoned. And the owner, Sandhya something or other, is so much more welcoming than whats-his-name at Indian Cuisine. And they have a plethora of South Indian offerings on their dinnertime menu. Sambhar! Idlis! Masala dosa!

Six o'clock, I'll be there.

The Cherry Red goes back to Dave Mays tomorrow for more fixing up. The Check Engine is still valiantly holding on in its fight to remain off. Another car mystery.
